Actions: Selenium is a component of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, an enzyme which catalyses the removal of free radicals. Selenium deficiencies cause muscular disorders such as muscle weakness, lameness and muscular dystrophy syndrome. Magnesium and potassium are involved in muscle contraction, nerve function and cellular metabolism, and may aid in muscle recovery following exercise. Arginine and lysine are essential amino acids. Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) is necessary for general metabolism and nervous function, and is involved in blood cell formation.
